SharePoint Uplift

Case Study:SharePoint Uplift For Premier Construction Company

Client overview

During the COVID crisis, Premier Construction Company in Australia engaged Cloud Solution IT to modernise its SharePoint environment, migrate intranet sites to SharePoint Online, and build new business applications using Microsoft Power Platform. The organisation has around 200 employees and needed a modern, cloud‑based collaboration platform that would improve access, performance, and user adoption.

Challenges

  • Large remote workforce
Around 200 staff needed reliable, remote access to intranet sites and collaboration tools, which was difficult with the legacy on‑premises SharePoint setup.
  • Mandated move to SharePoint Online
The parent company required a migration to the cloud version of SharePoint to drive higher user adoption and make apps and sites accessible online.
  • Limited capacity to modernise
Although migration had started internally, the team did not have the resources to properly modernise sites, apps, and workflows during the move.
  • Inconsistent design and unused sites
Multiple sites had inconsistent design, and many unused sites cluttered the environment, creating confusion and making information harder to find.
  • VPN dependency
With legacy SharePoint, users had to connect to a VPN to access most sites, which was time‑consuming, disruptive, and impacted productivity.

Our solution

Cloud Solution IT delivered an end‑to‑end SharePoint uplift and Power Platform solution to modernise the environment, standardise design, and automate key processes.

    • Seamless migration to SharePoint Online
Performed a migration from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online with zero data loss, ensuring continuity of information and operations.
    • Power Platform apps and processes
Leveraged Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and SPFx to create new applications and automated processes on top of SharePoint Online.
    • Modern intranet for 60+ sites
Planned and executed the migration of more than 60 intranet sites to the cloud, establishing a scalable, modern intranet with best‑practice information architecture.
    • Structured delivery approach
Used a clear Analyse–Plan–Design–Deliver approach to define requirements, design the new IA and UX, and deliver apps tailored for SharePoint Online within a six‑month go‑live window.
    • Project Hub management app
Built a Power App to manage the lifecycle of Project Hub sites and their permissions, including dashboards for site status and timelines and security‑driven views based on Azure AD roles and groups.
    • Automated provisioning and workflows
Implemented scheduled workflows to sync the employee directory with Azure AD user profiles and created a provisioning engine that automatically creates Project Hub sites, Azure AD groups, permissions, and document libraries.

Client experience

“I am reviewing the work you have done and wanted to say a huge thank you! The solution is absolutely incredible. I am looking at the Power Automate flow you built and wow – just awesome. It would have taken me years to have built the same (if at all). Also working with you was a very pleasant experience and I thoroughly enjoyed our sessions together. Hopefully we get to work on another project in future.”
